The company continually reinvests and devotes much of its resources to new plant and machinery to remain at the forefront of chair manufacturing. This also ensures the ability to remain competitive in the market and innovative.

Italsed has a manufacturing capability of between 700 – 800 chairs per day serviced by over 50 employees. We have an ability to manufacture for the specialist high end contract market meeting the legal requirements for products in public spaces to the complex ranges of custom made chairs for retailers who offer different shapes with a large number of different fabrics and leg colour options.

We are not limited to a particular handwriting when it comes to designing products – from the pure contemporary, through modern, transitional and classical we have a skill set through the business that enables us to be flexible to your requirements.

We recognise that the detail is the finishing touch to a product design and whether it be a particular style of stitching, buttoning, piping or leg style – we’ve got it covered.

As an own branded supplier we don’t waste money on brochures or expensive marketing campaigns and are of a size significant enough to buy our raw materials at great prices from our suppliers…all aimed at providing great value to you.

Capabilities and Techniques

  • Italsed can produce most chair finishes from all wood to fully upholstered.
  • We work with bent wood, metal and a mix of wood and metal.
  • We have a dedicated workshop for handwoven rope seats and caning.
  • We pride ourselves on our ability to match all finishes and can provide anything from natural finishes to high gloss lacquer.
  • We offer 100% vegetable oil finishes and 100% water-based spraying finishes.
  • All of our products are fully tested in the CATAS laboratory in Italy and meet the European standards and in most cases to a contract level of testing.

Primarily we use Beech, Ash and Oak and Walnut.

We can meet the important CARB 2 requirements if required for plywood, mdf, chipboard and have this certification along with our FSC certification.

The Italsed factory is fully automated:
Automated robotic spraying and drying tunnels are used for finishing.

Italsed has a capacity to produce 800 chairs per day on a single shift pattern which can be increased with an additional shift.

Design Excellence

  • Italsed has the ability to create design to a brief using our software ‘Solid Works 3D’ and CAD producing full technical drawings and drafts.
  • We can also work from a technical brief supplied directly from you.
  • In all cases we will produce a prototype for initial approval. Once signed off, we will then make a full sample for final approval of all products.
